BET just gave us something to look forward to.
Variety reports Lena Waithe, co-producer of “Dear White People,” has signed a deal to write a pilot for BET based on her YouTube series “Twenties."
The show will be produced by Queen Latifah's production company Flavor Unit.
“Twenties” follows the lives of a group of twentysomething black women finding their way. Waithe told Variety that she hopes the pilot will reach a wide range of demographics and use its wit to spark meaningful conversation.
“We want to be entertaining, but we also want to make people think and not just sit back mindlessly,” Waithe said. “We really want them to sit up and pay attention.”
Can't wait to see what she comes up with!
