Uzo Aduba Wins Emmy For Her Role as "Crazy Eyes"
Uzo Aduba won an Emmy Award for guest actress in a comedy at the Creative Arts Emmy Awards for her performance in the Netflix series "Orange is the New Black." Aduba's performance as mentally imbalanced inmate Suzanne "Crazy Eyes" Warren has drawn raves since the show's debut.
The 33-year-old thanked her Nigerian mother in her acceptance speech as well as the show's creator and show runner Jenji Kohan.
She took home the award in the category in which her co-star Laverne Cox was also nominated. The Creative Arts Emmys include specialty and technical categories and are not televised. The Primetime Emmys will air on NBC Aug. 25.
