NBA star Stephen Curry's 2-year-old daughter Riley stole the show twice during her dad's press conferences and most of the world fell in love with her. But not everyone had good things to say about the spunky 2-year-old and her parents, Stephen and Ayesha, allowing her to be herself.
Ayesha Curry, a blogger and business woman, penned a blog for TIME entitled, How to Parent When Your Kid Goes Viral. She discuses how the excitement of her husband Stephen playing in the NBA playoffs has put the young family's life into perspective. "If anything, the attention has brought us closer together" she says, "And made us realize that through all of this, we need to remain balanced and relaxed, especially in our home with our daughter."
She gracefully addresses Riley's show stopping TV appearances, explaining they were just moments when a father wanted to be with his daughter and a daughter wanted to be with her father. She writes:
Last week, Riley joined her father in a press conference, and some thought she stole the show. I thought it was beautiful, and I wouldn’t change a thing. There can be more than 50 people and 10 cameras—not counting camera phones—in the room during press conferences, so it can be overwhelming. But my husband handled his duties on the podium with ease and class. And my daughter was who she is—vibrant, spunky, and full of life. I hope she carries this with her through adulthood. We wish nothing but the best for Riley and her parents! Read more of Ayesha's blog here.
