1. Nubian Nights Out Presents: Who Taught You?

This July Nubian Nights Out invites you to their first art exhibition, NNO Presents: Who Taught You? A selection of works in celebration of Black women and the diverse, unique and authentic qualities found within them.
In the form of conceptual photography by the group’s fine artist Kimberley Williams, the evening will also include works by New York based artist, Passions Ink.
2. BrAIDathon and Hair Styling Show
Saturday, 25 July 2015 from 10:00 AM to 8:00 PM
Location: Toronto, ON
The BrAIDathon is an event where you get your hair done by professional
hair dressers.
Proceeds go to supporting the BrAIDS for AIDS Foundation and its programs
across the GTA including a new entrepreneurship-focused hair dresser
program for African, Caribbean and Black young women; our program with
young men in the prison system; and our program focusing on combating
violence against women.
3. Self Care & Leadership Training with Dr. LG Shanklin-Flowers
Date: Saturday, July 25, 2015 from 10:00 AM to 4:00 PM
Location: Minneapolis, MN
Join VoteRunLead for a day-long training with women who are passionate about creating positive change in their communities and have aspirations of stepping into leadership roles. See familiar faces or meet new ones. Step into a space that is dedicated to uplifting and encouraging women’s community and political leadership! Participants will walk away with a deeper understanding of self-care and tools for implementing new self-care practices in daily life.
4. Living No Lye Tour-NYC

The tour will feature interactive workshops providing personalized healthy hair care regimens, product education, hair growth tips and techniques, strategies for transitioning, live styling demos and more! The mission of The Living No Lye Tour is to educate and empower individuals embarking on natural hair journeys by focusing on natural hair, beauty, and overall health and wellness.
5. LOSING GROUND | “New Vanguard of Black Women in Film: Kathleen Collins”
Date: Sunday, July 26, 2015 from 12:00 PM to 2:00 PM

A comedy-drama about a Black American female philosophy professor and her insensitive, philandering, and flamboyant artist husband who are having a marital crisis. When the wife goes off on an almost unbelievable journey to find “ecstasy”, her husband is forced to see her in a different light.
