Fox is developing an television series about a Tennessee police shooting involving an Black cop and a white teen, Variety reports. The project will star Sanaa Lathan and is being written, directed, and executive produced by Gina Prince-Bythewood. The pair last worked together on the 2000 hit, Love and Basketball.
The series will focus on the aftermath of the racially-charged shooting. Lathan will play an expert investigator sent to town by the Department of Justice.
Bythewood's last directed the drama "Beyond the Lights," and Lathan most recently starred in "The Perfect Guy."
