Janet Jackson's 'Unbreakable' Is Her Seventh No. 1 Album


Janet Jackson's 'Unbreakable' has debuted at No. 1 on the Billboard 200 albums chart. This historic achievement marks her seventh No. 1 album and makes her the third artist to achieve No. 1 albums in each of the last four decades.

Jackson's comeback album 'Unbreakable' earned 116,000 equivalent album units in it's first week according to Nielsen Music and sold 109,000 in pure album sales. Jackson's success comes with little promotion other than her successful Unbreakable World Tour.
Jackson previously led the album charts with 'Discipline' (2008), 'All For You' (2001), 'The Velvet Rope' (1997), 'janet.' (1993), 'Janet Jackson’s Rhythm Nation 1814' (1989), and 'Control' (1986).
'Unbreakable' also debuts at No. 1 on the Independent Albums chart and is Jackson’s first independently distributed album, released on her own Rhythm Nation label through BMG.
