"Bessie" Wins Top TV Film Honor at Creative Arts Emmys


According to Variety, “Bessie,” starring Queen Latifah won the award for Outstanding Television Movie at the Creative Arts Emmys on September 12.

“You’re very rarely rewarded after this amount of time,” said “Bessie” executive producer Lili Fini Zanuck backstage after the win.
The two-hour drama is based on the life and career of iconic singer Bessie Smith and follows the her transformation into one of the most successful recording artists of the 1920s and 1930s. You can read more about the dynamic film here.
