Essence's Black Women In Hollywood Short Film Contest Is Open for Submissions


The Essence Black Women In Hollywood Short Film Contest is now open for submissions. This year the contest is looking for documentaries that show how the modern day Black family looks, exists and grows in today's society.



For the third annual contest, filmmakers are invited to submit a documentaries no longer than 20 minutes. The winner will be selected by a panel of ESSENCE editors and will be honored at the 9th annual Black Women in Hollywood luncheon on February 25, 2016. The winning filmmaker will also receive $2,500.
The deadline for submissions is December 14th. Interested filmmakers can enter the contest here. ESSENCE has a great track record for finding phenomenal talent. We love this film that won in 2014.
