There were plenty of Black Panther news at Comic Con San Diego this week.  Not only will we get the first Marvel comic written by Black women before the end of the year, but new names have been added to the forthcoming Black Panther film.

Chadwick Boseman will star as T'Challa/Black Panther and Ryan Coogler will direct. But Saturday Marvel Studios head Kevin Feige was confirmed that Lupita Nyong'o and Danai Gurira will join the cast.

Nyong'o and Gurira will play, Nakia and Okoye, respectively. The women are two member T'Challa's security force in the fictional African country of Wakanda.

“One of the most amazing things about Wakanda is they have these women who are the best fighters in the kingdom,” Coogler said.

Michael B. Jordan will appear in the film as Erik Killmonger.

Coogler's last film, Creed, was a critical and box office success.
