"The Perfect Guy" Placed First in This Weekend's Box Office Race



"The Perfect Guy" starring Sanaa Lathan, Morris Chestnut, and Michael Ealy won the close box office race this weekend beating out "The Visit," ABC reports.


The thriller earned an estimated $26.7 million domestically this opening weekend. The film, which had a budget of $12 million, was estimated to only bring in $17 million opening weekend. M. Night Shyamalan's "The Visit" was a close second, earning 25.7 million,
"The Perfect Guy" tells the story of a successful lobbyist (Sanaa Lathan) who rebounds from breaking up with her boyfriend (Morris Chestnut) by embarking on a new relationship with a a man who seems almost too good to be true (Michael Ealy).

This marks the fifth week in a row that the box office winner has been a film headlined by a Black lead.
