Report: South Carolina Girl Assaulted by Police Officer is a Recent Orphan


The girl assaulted on video by a former school resource officer at Spring Valley High School in Columbia, South Carolina has yet to be identified, but New York Daily News has new information about her tragic home life.


The 16-year-old girl recently lost her mother and is living in foster care.
The girl's attorney, Todd Rutherford, says that the girl sustained injuries on her arm, neck and face. He also told the newspaper that she is currently in foster care.

While her identity, no doubt, will eventually be leaked to the media, it's the goal of her foster mother to protect and care for her as well as she can considering the circumstances. She communicated to us that the young victim is devastated and emotionally traumatized by all that has happened to her. 

Our thoughts are with the young woman who will, no doubt, have a long road of physical and emotional healing to come.
