"Greenleaf" Scores OWN Its Best Ratings Ever

Oprah made her OWN acting debut on the drama series “Greenleaf” that premiered Tuesday. The showed drew in the cable network’s biggest audiences ever in its target demographic, according to Variety.

“Greenleaf” scored 3.04 million viewers and a 2.18 rating in Nielsen live-plus-same day numbers among women between the ages of 25-54. It clocked in behind only FX's "The People Vs. O.J. Simpson: American Crime story."



Winfrey is an Academy Award-nominated actress who last appeared in Ava DuVernay's 2014 film "Selma."

“Greenleaf” explores the inner workings of the powerful family behind a Memphis megachurch. Winfrey stars alongside Merle Dandridge, Keith David and Lynn Whitfield.

“Greenleaf” will air two new episodes Wednesday at 9 p.m. and 10 p.m. It will air regularly on Wednesday at 10 p.m.
