"Hairdo" Photo Series Captures the Diversity of Black Children's Hairstyles


A new photo series by UK based photographer, Emily Steinshowcases the diversity and creativity of hairstyles on Black children.



The photo series titled "Hairdo," captures carefree Black kids rocking braids, twists, buns, puffs, and more. As Black children are often criticized for their unique hairstyles, this project aims to display how hairstyles can evoke joy and are a means of self-expression.
"I would [want] people who look at the series [to] feel the positive energy of youth and the spirit of undiluted individuality," Stein told Huffington Post. She hopes that her photographs can "be a celebration of both style and individuality,
