This year's Emmy awards have already been touted as the most diverse ever. 25 non-white actors were nominated in the acting categories. That's up from 22 in 2016. This increase comes as no surprise to those of us who've been delighted by the breadth of roles for Black and brown actors series like Orange is the New Black, Insecure, Master or None and Atlanta.
